Renowned for its spectacular interiors and popular staging of classic Chinese theatre, the opera house was frequented by members of Thailand’s Royal Family, among other members of the aristocracy. By the mid-1900s, the building transformed again, serving as Thailand’s stock exchange and a textile trading center, before becoming Yaowarat Square, a popular department store brimming with restaurants and shops peddling Chinese herbal medicine. By 1998, the building fell into disrepair and in 2005, it was purchased by Burasari Group.

Inspired by the ongoing revival of Yaowarat Road, Burasari Group refurbished it as Shanghai Mansion — Chinatown’s most striking and artistic boutique hotel. Biking Tour

Pick up time: 07:00-07:30 AM.

Get ready to explore the colours of Bangkok on one of our most popular half day Bangkok bike tours. We will take you to parts of the Thai Capital that you may miss on your own.  We will be taking you through a place with narrow streets and backyards to escape from the dense traffic of Bangkok.

In the first part of our journey you will be witnessing stand alone villas, luxurious apartment buildings, town houses, small factories and some shops.  As we continue our journey we will walk through a small community in one of the more impoverished areas and stop at a local Kindergarten where we will see children receiving education.

We continue our of Bangkok bicycle excursion and  arrive at the pier. Here we will be boarding a typical Thai longtail boat to cross the mighty Chao Phraya river.

At the other side of the river we will find ourselves back in the ‘Jungle’ or the ‘Green Lung’ of Bangkok, the greenest area in the whole city.
We will be cycling on elevated pathways through lush vegetation and in the shade of coconut palms and banana trees. Halfway through the tour we stop at a local restaurant and enjoy a Thai meal of  Pad Thai (Thai noodles) or Khao Pad (fried rice).

After our meal we visit a very old, non-touristy Buddhist temple. The guide will tell you everything about this temple and about Buddhism in general. Unfortunately, time has come to return to the pier where we take a short boat ride back to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok again. We make a last stop at an open-air Muay Thai school. Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing, is the national sport and cultural martial art of Thailand and its origin dates back several hundred years. Participants on our Colourrs of Bangkok bicycle tour will learn about the daily life of Bangkokians. We take you off the beaten track and show you a different Bangkok, a ‘local’ Bangkok, far away from the well-known tourist areas.

After this half day Bangkok Bicycle tour we will return to the hotel by 12:30-13:00 hrs. by minivan.

On the way, a stop is made at Bang Pa In palace, which was used by the kings of Thailand as their summer residence. The design of the palace is very European.

The buildings are laid out along an artificial ornamental pond. This was formerly the public area of the palace. The lake is a long rectangular pool lined. The most obvious of the ornaments is a modern copy of a Khmer style Prang. After a local lunch, we head to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ayutthaya and explore the ancient ruin that once was the capital city of Thailand. Here you will find a giant sitting Buddha statue at Wat Prananchoeng and the famous leaning Chedi at Wat Chai Mongkol, as well as hundreds of smaller statues along the walls. A stop is made at a local riverside restaurant before continuing to Wat Mahathat. Wat Mahathat is famous for the Buddha head in the banyan tree.

Diversity & Harmony Walking Tour

Pick up time: 08:30 AM.

In the morning you will meet your guide at your hotel lobby and head out to explore Bangkok’s hidden gems by public transport. Take a watertaxi and cross over to the Thonburi side of the river to see the “Kudi Jeen” community. Witness the harmony in the community, which adheres to different religious practices that have been living together in peace within the Thai culture over the past 250 years. While you’re on this tour, not only will you be seeing some insights on the area, but you will also taste their local specialties.

Start the morning at the Asadang Pier, we will have a nice Thai dessert before taking the water taxis across the Chao Phraya River to the Kanlayanamitr Temple. Wat Kanlayanamitr houses Phra Phuttha Trai Rattana Nayok, also known among the Chinese as Sam Po Kong or Sam Po Hut Kong and is well-respected.  It is the only temple in Thailand where one of the principal Buddha images is seated on a rock with the left hand on the left knee facing downwards and the right hand on the right knee facing upwards.  There are mural paintings depicting the Story of Lord Buddha’s life and how people lived during the King Rama III reign.

The second stop is the Santa Cruz church, one of the oldest churches in Thailand. The construction was completed on the 14th September 1769. Based in the area of “Kudi Jeen”, experience the differences in their community. Your tour guide will explain why this church is so interesting, focusing on how it existed and why it is now called “Kudi Jeen” or “the Chinese church” by the locals. Visit Khnom Farang Kudi Jeen, if you’re lucky, they will show you how to bake this. This sweet baked treat is unlike any Thai dessert, owing to its European, Siamese, and Chinese heritage.  If you’re interested in more, enter the Baan Kudi Jeen museum and see the history of the area.

Head to Wang Lang Market by local public transportation. This market is known to the locals, yet undiscovered by tourists. This means that vendors tend to give you some extra, friendlier attention. Here you can find so many kinds of local snacks. The most famous one is Wang Lang Bakery, which is mixed with Thai and Western style. After a half day of excitement, you will head back to your hotel with your guide by public transportation.

Bangkok Night Life Tuk Tuk Tour

The tour starts on the Thonburi side of the river, which is traditionally more residential. After meeting the guide and other group members at Krung Thonburi BTS station (the first station once you cross the river), your guide will introduce you to your driver and as a group you will start your journey whizzing around Bangkok.

You will first stop at a local market where we will pick up snacks and explore market life from a local’s perspective. You will then continue to a local temple that is beautiful at night, for an introduction to Buddhism and Thai beliefs.

You will then continue back across the river to the historic heart of Bangkok. You will visit places that most tourists only visit during the daytime including some of Bangkok’s most famous temples, such as Wat Pho. We will walk through local Bangkok night markets including the 24-hour Flower market where the vivid colors come alive under the fluorescent lights, at a time when flowers are starting to get delivered.

Along the way you will stop to sample some of the best food in the city, whether it be random snacks in the first market, some of the city’s best noodles, or a surprise dessert stop at the end. You will not go hungry so no need to eat beforehand! There are also vegetarian food options available throughout. At the end of the tour, we will return you to your hotel.

For most of the tour we will get around by tuk tuk and while we cannot promise it, we will hopefully encounter very little traffic. The tour lasts 4 hours and for those who want to get the full night experience you will still have time to check out more of the diverse nightlife.
