Sofitel Legend Santa Clara.

The Colombian hotels Sofitel Legend Santa Clara and Sofitel Bogotá Victoria Regia were recently recognized among the best in the world by the Readers´ Choice Awards 2020, published in the Condé Nast Traveler magazine. They also were included in the list of the top hotels of South America, where Fairmont Río de Janeiro Copacabana was also listed.

While Sofitel Legend Santa Clara ranked first on the list of the best hotels in South America, it ranked second worldwide, while Sofitel Bogotá Victoria Regia ranked sixth in this category and third in the region. For its part, Fairmont Río de Janeiro, located in the heart of the touristic region of Brazil, has been listed in the top twenty hotels of South America.

Philippe Trapp, Chief Operational Officer of the Accor South America luxury brands, has pointed out the following: “These recognitions help us position our destinations as world-class sites, which benefits the entire industry and recognizes our teams, who work with commitment and dedication towards delivering a top-level service. Sofitel continues showing its global leadership and Fairmont, which arrived a little over a year, is already providing a new luxury experience in the heart of Rio de Janeiro”.

Condé Nast Traveler Readers´ Choice Awards recognizes the excellence and is among the oldest and most prestigious of the industry. Over 715,000 participants cast their vote between April and June for this 33rd annual poll, rating their travel experience.

Value Proposal

Sofitel Legend Santa Clara, located in Cartagena, is the former convent of the Poor Clare Sisters in the 17th century. It blends elements from the past and modern aspects in an elegant fashion. Located in the Historic Center of the city, it is near historic sites such as the Palace of Inquisition, and the Santo Domingo and San Pedro Clavel squares. Its rooms are situated in the Colonial and Republican area, framed within a contemporaneous style overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the swimming pool, which is the largest one in the Historic Center. It is supplemented by 4 suits that offer tribute to 5 globally recognized Colombian plastic artists: Fernando Botero, Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Olga & Jim Amaral and Enrique Grau.

For its part, Sofitel Bogotá Victoria Regia was given its name due to a water lily that floats in the Amazon River, within the proposition of offering the flavor of Colombia with elegant hints of France. The property was designed by the well-known architect Miguel Soto, who directed the entire “Colombia and France shared equally” aesthetics: velvet furniture, local works of art on a rotating fashion, fresh flowers replaced daily and Hermes toiletries. All 102 rooms, including five suites, are elegant and comfortable, while the Basilic restaurant offers French-style haute cuisine and an extensive wine menu.

On the other hand, Fairmont Río de Janeiro Copacabana is the first hotel from this chain in South America. With a design inspired in the local culture, refined cuisine and tailormade travel experiences, it is located in the emblematic Posto 6 building in Copacabana, right in the heart of Rio, promising an authentic Carioca connection and the transformation of moments into memories. The local setting, as well as the materials and creations of Brazilian designers, are present in all common areas and environments. The hotel has 375 rooms with balcony – 68 suites-, two swimming pools, Spa, gymnasium, in addition to a convention and social event center with 13 meeting halls, arranged in 1,500 square meters. The concept store, located in the entrance hall, is oversighted by H. Stern.
