You will also explore the Northern part of Vietnam, ending this trip in Hanoi.

Luxury River Expeditions
Unlike most other hotels, resorts, restaurant and cruise ships, this is not “Our” exotic expedition – it is all ‘Yours’. It is not our manner to tell you what to do, when to do it, or how to enjoy yourselves. We are quite simply your facilitator, your guides, hosts & hostesses. We are all focused and passionate about providing you with a heart-warming “Once in a Life-time” truly unique and exotic Asian adventure holiday.
Welcome to Viet Princess Cruises!

By combining shipboard life, in elegant French colonial luxury, with discreet and fascinating shore excursions, this is the most intimate way to be ‘up close and personal’ with the people and culture of Southern Vietnam. The ultimate journey of exploration, along the lower Mekong, is to cruise from Cambodian waters along the famous Mekong Delta and then head north into Saigon Port.

Equally as exotic and by comparison to Vietnam, the plains of Cambodia open before you as we cruise upstream towards the nation’s capital of Phnom Penh. Along the riverbanks the oxen-carts plough their way along a narrow path, working the land, forever contributing to the cooperative, subsistence way of Life that is Cambodia today and yesterday.

RECENT MEMBER TESTIMONIALS:

“Listen. You need to book this trip!”

The Viet Princess cruise on the Mekong River is a class act and you will not be disappointed.  The ship’s décor: suites, dining room, lounge and the sun deck area are beautifully appointed.  The crew members are welcoming and bend over backwards to accommodate your needs and to ensure your voyage will create fond memories that will last forever.  The cuisine for the buffet breakfast, lunch and the a la carte dinners is exceptional–a five star experience offered by the kitchen staff.  The daily tours on shore provide an authentic glimpse into the lives of the people in villages along the Mekong.  The local tour guides who stay on the ship are enthusiastic and passionate about their country and make the tours an unforgettable experience.  Of my many and varied travels, this experience is equal to my favorite journeys.  Do not miss out on a chance to enjoy this amazing travel opportunity.”

The Mekong Princess River Cruise…This cruise was top notch!”

As suggested by our Trip Merchant travel company we booked the Mekong Princess River Cruise. As Canadians we were intrigued……we were told it would be a fabulous Asian experience, that it was!

We arrived to a lovely boutique colonial style river boat and were ushered to the Angkor Suite…..it was beautiful and spacious. Eric the Cruise Director and his staff were outstanding……they really cared that the needs and wants of the customer were met. They were the most friendly and most gracious people of all our travels, we enjoyed them very much. The restaurant served a great variety of dishes and introduction to exotic flavours. The cruise had daily excursions that were truly authentic and an eye opener into the daily lives and culture of their people which included Vietnam and Cambodia. Memories we will never forget.

Overall the attention to detail was amazing on so many levels…..it is something all travellers should experience. We are so glad we step a little outside our comfort zone for an experience of a lifetime!

“Having a fabulous time!”

We are very appreciative that you recommended this cruise to us – it is absolutely amazing. All of the staff are professional & friendly, the food is delicious, & our suite is incredible – they upgraded us!

The shore excursions have been really unique & interesting, and our guide is very knowledgeable, well educated, & speaks very good English. He gets off when we leave Vietnam & we will have a Cambodian tour guide after that.

The cruise director, Eric, is amazing!  We were worried about currency & tipping and he has arranged for all the tipping to be done by them & we will pay it with our bill at the end. It’s been great to not have to take money along & wonder if we are tipping the right people & how much. If we have any Vietnamese Dong currency left at the end, we can pay some of our bill with it.

I really like that this cruise company gives so much back to the communities that they go in to. Even the money from the on board shop goes to the children in Cambodia. All in all, I can’t say enough nice things about this experience – we feel so lucky to be here & thank you again for introducing us to this fabulous company.

Tuesday, January 28, 2025: Full Day Temple Tour

This morning, we will explore Angkor Wat. This temple is visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. It is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five lotus-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level. Angkor Wat is surrounded by a moat and an exterior wall measuring 1300 x 1500 meters. The temple itself is 1 km square and consists of three levels surmounted by a central tower. The walls of the temple are covered inside and out with bas-reliefs and carvings. Nearly 2000 distinctively rendered Apsara carvings adorn the walls throughout the temple and represent some of the finest examples of Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art.
After tour, comeback to Siem Reap town for lunch at the local restaurant.

After lunch, we will visit Angkor Thom (Big Angkor), is a 3 km2 walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian empire. After Jayavarman VII recaptured the Angkorian capital from the Cham invaders in 1181, he began a massive building campaign across the empire, constructing Angkor Thom as his new capital city. There are five entrances (gates) to the city, one for each cardinal point, and the victory gate leading to the Royal Palace area. Each gate is crowned with 4 giant faces. The South Gate is often the first stop on a tour. Then discover the beauties of amazing temples called Ta Prohm temple. Intentionally left partially unrestored, massive fig and silk-cotton trees grow from the towers and corridors offering some of the best ‘tree-in-temple’ photo opportunities at Angkor. Flocks of noisy parrots’ flit from tree to tree adding to the jungle atmosphere. Ta Prohm temple, where the famous film Tomb Raider was shot and brought the Angkor Wonders to the world. This evening dinner at local restaurant.
