Patagonia is a sparsely populated region in the southern end of South America that covers both Chile and Argentina. On this program we will begin and end in Buenos Aires. We will then experience magnificent glaciers and national parks in El Calafate and Torres Del Paine, before making our way to the Argentinean and Chilean Lake Districts. Also spending two nights enjoying the beautiful Swill Alpine style village of San Carlos de Bariloche located on the shores of Nahuel Huapi, a large glacial lake surrounded by the Andes Mountains.

Sunday, February 8th: Buenos Aires Airport (EZE) – Transfer to Hotel in Buenos Aires

Upon arrival into Buenos Aires International airport you will be met by our English speaking tour guide and you will be transferred directly to your hotel in the heart of Buenos Aires upscale Recoleta District. An area filled with plenty of great restaurants, lively entertainment and shopping. This will be your home for the next 3 nights.

Monday, February 9th: Buenos Aires

HD City Tour Excursion – Private Service with English speaking guide. Recoleta cemetery – entrance fee included. The tour includes attractions such as the 9 de Julio Avenue, the Obelisk and Corrientes Street. The first stop will be in the Plaza de Mayo so as to visit the Cathedral and the Cabildo (Old City Hall). After that, the trip will continue towards the most traditional neighborhood of Buenos Aires, San Telmo, which is characterized by its old colonial houses and the cobblestoned streets.

Later on, the tour will go to La Boca Neighborhood located in the south of the city. There will be a new scheduled stop so as to look around the colorful zinc houses that make up this area of Buenos Aires and that used to be the refuge and home for the first immigrants and popular artists. Soon after, the vehicle continues to Puerto Madero – the old port of the city that was turned into one of the most exclusive gastronomic and residential areas in Buenos Aires. The tour will go to Palermo: one of the most extended areas in the city and where it is possible to find the popular woods of Palermo with more or less 300 ha (741 acres) of gardens and artificial ponds surrounded by elegant buildings. Finally, the last point in the tour is Recoleta, which is one of the most selected neighborhoods and where, among other attractions, the Recoleta Cemetery can be found. Also, there are bars, cafes and fancy restaurants that are worth a visit. Here will be the last stop so as to walk to the cemetery area and its surroundings.

The Argentine Experience is not a gastronomy class, but an interactive dinner experience where guests participate in the preparation of their own empanada, alfajores and mate. During the course of the activity, you will enjoy the following activities

– Learn how to make the traditional empanada, with fillings of your choice, competing for the most original – Taste what they say is the best steak in Argentina, made to taste and accompanied by a creamy mashed potato and roasted vegetables. – Tasting the best Malbec wine, specially chosen to accompany the three dishes – For dessert, our  guests prepares their own alfajor -a traditional Argentinean sweet.

Tuesday, February 10th: Buenos Aires

Today enjoy a full day at leisure in Argentina’s Capital to explore as you wish or join an optional day trip to an Argentine Ranch!
Optional Excursion: After the pick up at the hotel, the tour will head to the town called San Antonio de Areco. This is a 280 years old small town called San Antonio de Areco: with its colonial protected architecture, people with garments and still keeps the customs of the original Argentinean traditions. Nestled in lush farmlands, San Antonio de Areco still has the narrow sidewalks and the local handicrafts, blacksmiths, silversmiths and leather shops along the streets, so it is possible to learn about this art from the skillful artisans.

Thursday, February 12th: El Calafate

Full Day Perito Moreno Excursion – Private Service with English speaking guide. Los Glaciares National Park – Entrance Fee and Lunch included Departing in the morning from El Calafate, after 80 km you reach the western end of the Peninsula de Magallanes from where the walk along the walkways begins. Here you can spend the time you want to this amazing place, with various stops at panoramic points within the National Park. The walkways are 3 km long. They are located at different levels and allow you to contemplate the glacier from different perspectives and balconies. Depending on the physical conditions, you can reach the lower balconies and near the glacier or stay on the first balconies easily accessible for anyone.

Saturday, February 14th: Puerto Natales / Torres de Paine National Park / Puerto Natales

Full Day Excursion to Torres de Paine National Park (entrance fee and lunch included) Torres del Paine is known worldwide for the massifs that give it its name, giant granite modelled by the force of glacial ice. The excursion begins with a visit to the Milodon’s Cave, a remarkable cavern 200 meters long, 30 meters high and 80 meters wide located 25 km from Puerto Natales. At Cerro Castillo, we make a stop at a cafeteria and then continue towards Torres del Paine crossing numerous estancias and a landscape . On the way, it is possible to spot local fauna including the South American ostrich or Ñandu and the guanaco, a wild llama. After entering the park, we discovered a series of intense coloured lagoons, mountains covered with ice and abundant local fauna. Afterwards we will go for a 15 minute walk to the Salto Grande on the Paine River. After lunch, we continue to Lake Grey, where we will take a walk to a panoramic point from which we can contemplate the icebergs and the glacier of the same name. Later, the return to Puerto Natales is undertaken by the same route, or by the road that borders the lakes Toro, Porteño and Sofía. DURATION:10 HOURS DEPARTURE: 7:30 AM

Monday, February 16th: Puerto Varas / Bariloche

Transfer from Puerto Varas to Lake Crossing office. Full Day Andean Crossing (Puerto Varas – Bariloche) The only crossing that travels the Andes Mountains through 3 beautiful lakes connected by 4 land sections, which goes from Puerto Varas in Chile to San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina. A trip that takes place every day of the year revealing mountain landscapes with a beauty that crosses the most colourful portion of Patagonia.
PUERTO VARAS OFFICE 8:30 Departure by bus from the Puerto Varas Office (Del Salvador 72) to Petrohué, passing by Lake Llanquihue.
PTO. VARAS – PETROHUE 08:30 – 10:00 Impressive views of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes dominate the landscape. Entrance to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park .
PETROHUE – PEULLA 10:00 – 12:00 We’ll sail to Peulla, navigating across Lake Todos los Santos. If the weather permits, different and breathtaking views of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes and Cerro Tronador can be seen.
LUNCH PEULLA 12:30 – 15:00 Arrival to Peulla, an ecological lodge and a paradise for nature lovers. Lunch (NOT included – additional cost).
PEULLA – PTO. FRÍAS 15:00 – 17:00 We’ll board the following bus destined for Puerto Frías, close to Chilean customs to follow the necessary steps at the border. We’ll cross the Andes Mountains, following the route to Puerto Frías.
PTO. FRÍAS – BLEST 17:00 – 19:00 The trip continues in the following sail across Lake Frías for 20 minutes aboard the Victoria del Sur headed towards Puerto Alegre. Upon arrival to Puerto Alegre we’ll take our third bus to Puerto Blest.

Tuesday, February 17th: Bariloche

The trip starts from Bariloche along Bustillo Avenue. The road is paved, winding and borders Lake Nahuel Huapi. At the height of Km. 8 is Playa Bonita, where Huemul Island can be appreciated. Ten kilometers ahead and after crossing different landscapes, you arrive at the foot of Campanario Hill. In this place there is a chairlift that takes the traveler to the summit (1,050mts.), from where one of the most beautiful and fascinating views of the region can be appreciated. You can observe the Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno Lakes, El Trébol Lagoon, San Pedro and Llao Llao peninsulas, Victoria Island, Otto, López, Goye, Catedral and the city of Bariloche. Following the trip and after passing through the area of the peninsula of San Pedro, you reach the peninsula of Llao Llao, there are the great hotel Llao Llao and the chapel San Eduardo, architectural gems of the region, on Lake Nahuel Huapi: Puerto Pañuelo. Continuing the journey we will cross the golf courses, the Angostura bridge over the river of the same name that joins lakes Moreno and Nahuel Huapi and López Bay at the foot of the hill of the same name. Further on you will reach the Panoramic Point, which is a natural balcony with a view over Lake Moreno and the Llao Llao Peninsula. Then we cross the bridge that crosses Lake Moreno, we border El Trébol Lagoon and 2 km further on we join Bustillo Avenue, at the height of Km 18, where we return to the city closing the circuit.

Wednesday, February 18th: Bariloche / Buenos Aires

After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred to the Bariloche Airport for your include domestic flight back to Buenos Aires. Capacity: 1 suitcase + 1 carry on per person
Welcome to Buenos Aires! You may choose to depart for home later this evening or continue on with our  "Antarctic Circle Expediton!" . If you decide to join our trip to Antarctica you will be transferred to the Pre-Cruise Hotel.
